Jacob Wong, Student Government Association president and psychology sophomore, says Monday that an open forum featuring Chancellor Bruce Leslie is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 15 during a meeting in the craft room of Loftin. A location for the forum has not been determined.

An open forum with Chancellor Bruce Leslie will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 15, the Student Government Association announced at its Oct. 22 meeting.

Emma Mendiola, dean of student affairs, is co sponsoring the chancellor’s forum.

The location has not been determined.

“It needs to be accessible for students,” SGA Secretary Justin Wideman said.

President Jacob Wong said the previous open forum with the chancellor Dec. 1 was in the faculty staff lounge and wasn’t easy to locate.

“That one, once the doors were closed and unless you knew where it was, you probably didn’t know how to get there,” Wong said.

The forum will be open to all students.

In other news, SGA announced more incentives for those who donate in the campus wide food drive.

The Ranger reported on Oct. 18 that SGA was partnering with the office of student life and the Catholic Student Association to hold a nonperishable food drive Nov 12-13.

Along with 10 percent off bookstore items, excluding food and textbooks, SGA announced discount vouchers at Clay Casa and Julian’s Italian Pizzeria.

Clay Casa is a pottery painting, mosaics, and glass fusing studio.

Julian’s prepared the pizza SGA provided for pizza with the President on Sept. 12.

The SGA will be in the mall collecting food, and all donations will go to the San Antonio Food Bank.
