Unfortunately for the Rice football team, it was the University of Tulsa's turn to beat an opponent by a truckload's worth of points. Just one week removed from trouncing the University of North Texas 77-20, the Owls fell hard to the Golden Hurricane's merciless offense and effective defense, losing by a 63-28 score.

When Tom Brady went down in the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs, prematurely ending his 2008-'09 season, I felt his pain because my season ended as well. Not only did the event ruin my fantasy football hopes, as Brady was my first overall pick, but it also destroyed my appetite to watch another NFL game this year.

If UH head coach Tom Penders and associate head coach Melvin Haralson put the Cougars' 2008-09 non-conference schedule together based on how strong they felt their squad would be come November, then Houston fans should be in for some exciting basketball.
Depending on how things pan out in the 2K Sports College Classic basketball tournament in November, the Cougars will have an opportunity to face at least six teams that finished with 20 wins or more last season.

Game of the week
Titans (4-0)
at
Ravens (2-1)
It will be interesting to see if Titans Coach Jeff Fisher will keep his word and stay with QB Kerry Collins if the Titans keep their winning streak alive or will a healthy Vince Young be enough to change his mind? Ravens make this an interesting game with their stellar number one defense and number one rushing attack against Titans fifth-ranked defense.
