Students should attend the transfer fair Oct. 29 to figure out the options they have once they leave this college.

The transfer fair will host 38 colleges from across town and the state and a few from out of state 9 a.m.-noon in the Fiesta Room of Loftin Student Center.

Transfer fairs help students decide which university they want to attend to complete a bachelor’s degree.

University representatives can answer questions regarding admission steps, tuition rates, financial aid, transfer credits and degree plans. They also should be able to respond to the question, “Why should I pick your university?”

The fair is an excellent opportunity for undecided students to weigh the pros and cons of each university and possibly decide on a university to attend.

For students who already know where they want to go, this is an opportunity to double-check information and make sure they are taking the proper steps.

What are deadlines for admissions, housing reservations and financial aid applications?

When students research universities, it saves them time and money in the long run.

Learn which classes transfer toward your major. Should you get an associate degree in your major here or a transfer associate degree? How many hours can you transfer?

Look at what universities have to offer and which ones best suit you and your major.

When students find an interest in a university, they should start making plans on ways to pay tuition. Ask at the transfer fair about the availability of scholarships and financial aid.

Visit with university representatives and get informed.

This college has simplified the process of transferring by bringing all of these university representatives to you.

Don’t miss the opportunity to get one step closer to a college degree.
