A sign posted on a women's restroom door in Candler informed people that facilities were not functioning. A crack in a water pipe has made water unavailable in five campus buildings.

Water has been unavailable in five campus buildings since mid-morning today because of a crack in a water pipe northeast of Candler Physical Education Center, facilities superintendent David Ortega said.

Signs were posted on restroom doors informing people that the facilities were not working.

As of 1:40 p.m., Loftin Student Center, McAllister Fine Arts Center and Gonzales and McCreless Halls and Candler were without water.

Water pipes were still functioning in the chemistry and geology building, Nail Technical, Fletcher Administration and Chance Academic centers.

Ortega said he expected the pipe to be fixed by 3 p.m.

For more information, call Ortega at 210-486-1227.
