While communication plays a huge role in sports, the local Deaf and Hearing Soccer Company allows those without the ability to hear or speak the chance to enjoy the sport. Andria Cantu, who started the company in 2006 with the help of Marcela Baca, said the company aims to ensure everyone can play the game.Players get together at 3 p.m. each Saturday at the Olmos Basin sporting complex for a purely recreational game.

Students on campus living with epilepsy can turn to the college health center for medical support and assistance. Paula Daggett, coordinator of the college health center, has seen students with epilepsy over the years. "If you see someone unconscious, shaking, eyes closed, frothing or bleeding from the mouth they are probably having a seizure," the registered nurse said.

The Rangers suffered their second basketball defeat in three games as they took it on the chin from the Lackland Air Force Base Warhawks by an 86-66 count Nov. 12. The loss runs the team's record to 5-3. The Rangers fired at will from beyond the arc as they hit nine from downtown in the first half alone; they made only three the whole game against Our Lady of the Lake Nov.
