This college and the Northeast college are searching for candidates for two vice president positions.
Positions for faculty and staff also are opening soon at the Northeast college.
At this campus, the hiring committee established to find a vice presidential candidate met Jan. 26 to discuss the pool of candidates for the position, Robert Flores, the chair of the committee said.
A set of criteria for the applicants also was approved by the committee, Flores added.
The job description details the vice president's general duties as planning, managing and directing the operation of the areas of arts and sciences, occupational and technical education, learning resources, extended services and program development.
The criteria lists examples of duties the vice president must exercise as an administrator at this college.
The qualifications the committee desires in a vice presidential candidate include a doctoral degree, five years experience in administration at a college or university, a preference of three years experience at a dean's level or above and three years teaching experience at the college or university level.
The criteria states community college experience is strongly preferred.
The committee will meet Feb. 15 to narrow the pool.
Flores said the community has a pool of 22 applicants.
The committee will e-mail the applicants a request for a statement citing educational philosophy, resume and a copy of transcripts, Flores said.
By Feb. 22, Flores said the committee will meet to gather questions for candidate interviews.
Flores said the college received a variety of applicants for the vice president position.
"We have some from in state and out of state," he said.
At the Northeast college, advertising for the vice president of academic affairs closed Thursday.
A hiring committee is being selected to review applications. The representatives on the committee will be from each of the four colleges.
Northeast college President Eric Reno sent the nominations for the committee to the presidents of the colleges to review.
The presidents are going to evaluate the nominees for good representatives, Reno said.
"It's just kind of a courtesy thing," he said.
The college putting together the committee is responsible for selecting the representatives, Reno said.
"You think of people you met and worked with and think they might be a good representative," he said.
Advertising for other positions - faculty, faculty chairs, librarians, lab technicians - going to be posted through February and continue to December.
Reno said positions needed right away for the Albertsons campus are going to be posted first. The campus is scheduled to open to students in six months.
"We don't have room to put everyone right now," he said. "We're going to phase everyone in."
Some of the employees are going to be hired internally from the district, Reno said.
He said people from inside and outside the district are interested in the positions.
"We're going to try to find the best candidate for each position," he said.
