First domino meet fails
Lack of interest prompts recreation sports to cancel tournament

The dominoes tournament scheduled for Feb. 22 was canceled after only two students signed up for the event.
Part-time intramural specialist Jorge Cadena explained they were trying something new.
This was supposed to be the first dominoes tournament on this campus, and the staff was curious to see what the turnout would be.
Cadena said, "I understand the fact they have other stuff they need to do, like study and work. We just try to do this to help them relieve stress and have some fun."
Recreation sports also had to reschedule a bowling tournament for March 8 instead of the original date of Feb. 24.
Cadena said the date was changed because district vans were not available to transport students to the bowling alley.
To sign up for the bowling tournament, students can go to the sports recreation office in Room 256 of Loftin Student Center. For more information call 733-2686.
