Club exhibits hard work

Editor: In the Oct. 20 issue, there was a letter to the editor addressing student government by one of the officers, Jim Boyle.
He reported that the SGA has been doing a good job. I agree. I feel the SGA and adviser Suzanne Martinez are doing a good job of representing the campus.
But then he goes on to defend the SGA, saying they deserve more, and the students and staff should look at other clubs and their preferential treatment like Phi Theta Kappa, which I find offensive.
You should not defend yourself by blaming others or pointing the finger. And for the record, Phi Theta Kappa officers spent the whole summer getting ready for the upcoming year.
In addition, members volunteered for the cleanup at the lake during the summer and will be doing graffiti cleanup in November.
Moreover, the members and officers volunteer their time and money with no questions asked.
In addition, they did all this without special treatment. So, in my opinion, if you are defending yourself or a group, you don't invert the blame or change the statement to reflect someone else or another group without researching some facts.
