Tracy Delilo, a librarian for this college, works out in the employee fitness room in Room 111 of Candler which enriched with new equipment and a new design this year.

Faculty and staff can now enjoy new equipment in the employee fitness room in Candler Physical Education Center Room 111.

Only full-time faculty and staff are allowed to use the room from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Of the new equipment, the room holds a cross-over machine, leg raise dip station and peck fly/rear deltoid combination machine.

The cross-over machine is capable of doing curls, pull-ups, work on triceps and has an attachment that connects to the ankle that woks on the inner and outer thigh.

"The machine serves a lot of different purposes," Barreira said.

The room also has a new design, in which all of the cardio machines are separated on one side of the room and the weight training machines on the other.

Dawn Brooks, wellness coordinator, said that at the end of each year the committee has a meeting in which they decide what to do with extra money.

She said that she had several requests for faculty and staff for the type of equipment that was purchased.

The Wellness Committee sponsors a lot of events throughout the semester.

"We are responsible for providing information and opportunities for improved wellness," Brooks said.

They also participate in the annual Healthfest, which is held every semester.

"The equipment will give a wider range of machines to use," Brooks said. "They can work on their toning, muscle strength and endurance. It will give them a physical component to their fitness."
