Enrollment at this college has decreased by 389 students to 21,510 compared to 21,899 for fall 2006, according to figures from Leo Zuniga, director of public relations for the ACCD.
This includes 2,035 students at the Northeast Campus, who are getting credit for classes that are offered by this college at that location.
The numbers given are from the census date, the 12th class day of the semester.
This is the date the college must report its fall enrollment to the state.
The Northeast Campus is under the administration of Northeast Lakeview College, which will open its own campus in fall 2008.
Students there who need financial aid are getting credit for their coursework from this college or St. Philip's College, Zuniga said.
Of those, 2,035 are registered at this college, 1,001 are at St. Philip's, and 98 who do not receive financial aid are enrolled at Northeast Lakeview College.
Enrollment at the Northeast Campus increased by 889 students compared to 2,245 students enrolled in fall 2006, Zuniga said.
Enrollment at St. Philip's increased by 17 students to 9,944 compared to 9,927 for fall 2006, Zuniga said.
This includes the students at the Northeast Campus.
Enrollment at Palo Alto College decreased by 42 students to 8,024, compared to 8,066 for fall 2006, Zuniga said.
Northwest Vista College had an increase of 823 students to 10,720 compared to 9,897 for fall 2006, Zuniga said.
This semester, a total of 50,296 students are enrolled in district colleges compared to 49,789 in fall 2006.
This represents an increase of 507 students, or 1 percent, Zuniga said.
Martin Ortega, this college's admissions and records director, declined to provide the enrollment on the census date.
He said he could provide only the number enrolled on whatever day he was asked.
The number of students enrolled has increased since the census date as students enrolled in Flex 2 classes, he said.
Students enrolled in Flex 2 of the fall semester are counted in the enrollment for the spring semester, Zuniga said.
