Find summer positions at Thursday's job fair

The job placement center offers a variety of services to help students get ready for the job fair from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday in McFarlin Tennis Center, 1503 San Pedro Ave.
More than 200 summer positions are available with hourly wages ranging from $8.75-13.29 per hour. The fair is limited to current students.
Some of the positions available are in aquatics, such as life guard, pool supervisor and public service attendant. Recreational programs include teen connection, kid quest and play zone.

Carol Bosquez, career service staff supervisor, said résumés are an important tool to getting noticed, and students should take advantage of the résumé services provided at the job center.
She said a specialist helps students develop professional résumés that list specific skills, have appropriate headings and use descriptive terms.
According to its Web site, the job center also provides job search counseling, job market orientation, interview simulation, on campus interviews, off-campus interviews, fax remission of job applications and job referrals.
Job center specialist Linda Moreno said job placement services are available to currently enrolled students, former students and graduates. Job listings are posted daily.
The job placement center assists students in finding part-time, full-time, temporary, summer, cooperative education, internships and other types of career-oriented employment.
Helpful books and videos relating to job search skills/careers are also available for students' benefit.
The center also offers an internet program called Sac Trak, a job link with a listing of job opportunities for students to research.
Students can access Sac Trak by logging on to www.myinterfase.com/sactrak/student.
