Anything almost free can seem like an enticing deal, especially when it helps out the community and benefits the hungry of San Antonio.
The Alamo Drafthouse, the San Antonio Current and the San Antonio Food Bank will partner to bring Almost Free Movie Night to the masses.
If a guest brings two cans of food, starting at 6:30 p.m. March 6 to the Alamo Drafthouse at 1255 S.W. Loop 410, moviegoers can see the first-run movies for free.
All food will be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank.
This is the second year the Drafthouse has been participating in this event.
Patrons will be able to pick from nine movies including "Semi-Pro," "No Country for Old Men," "Vantage Point," "Be Kind Rewind," "Charlie Bartlett," "Jumper," "Fool's Gold," "Definitely, Maybe" and "Full Metal Jacket."
The Drafthouse will serve its usual full dinner and drinks and alcoholic beverages for purchase.
The San Antonio Current also will be handing out free promotional items from the movies such as posters.
No one under 18 will be admitted without a parent. No children under 6 will be allowed. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Only the first 750 people are allowed.
