Tables lined the sides of Gym 2 with representatives of 40 organizations on topics such as nutritional tips, contraception and exercise.
Exhibits included PEACE Initiative, an organization focused on educating the public on the consequences of domestic violence.
Domestic violence happens all the time, so the main goal of PEACE Initiative is to inform the public about solutions and offer help to victims.
Weight Watchers, whose mission is to help people reach and maintain a healthy weight, staffed a table with a signup sheet for people interested in summer meetings.
Pamphlets distributed contained information about health issues and concerns such as the "Go Green" project on campus, which raises awareness about the environment and teaches students alternative ways to conserve the world's natural resources.
A self-defense class drew a large crowd toward the middle of the gym.
The kinesiology department was responsible for the all of the tutorials and was able to demonstrate self-defense techniques to teach students how to defend themselves in dangerous situations.
Fake knives and guns were used in the demonstrations to teach students how to defend themselves.
Dental hygiene materials such as toothbrushes and toothpaste from the allied health department were distributed.
Free health screenings included testing blood sugar levels and blood pressure. They were conducted by Health Check USA.
Free massage therapy sessions also were offered courtesy of the Alamo Health Institute.
