The library has received a new program that caters to faculty and students wanting to become informed about opportunities for jobs, skills and resources.
The Web site, www.factsonfile.com, shares detailed information about the benefits of the program.
The Ferguson's Career Guidance Center is redesigned, updated, more accessible and organized.
The job section is organized into 16 career clusters created by the U.S. Department of Education.
It contains information on more than 3,300 jobs and 94 industries.
The skills section features the Ferguson Publishing print titles, providing invaluable advice on applying for a job, having a successful interview and behaving professionally in a work environment.
There are 90 sample résumés and cover letters included.
The resources section includes more than 51,000 entries on scholarships, internships and more.
It is divided into categories, such as women and minorities, with fully searchable records.
New records allow users to share information with one another.
A search archive of articles from past issues of Career Opportunities News, a 16-page newsletter, provides timely information about colleges and the job market.
Librarian John Deosdade presented the program to the library.
He said this database is beneficial to students because it allows them to research and explore 24 hours a day from their homes.
The Facts on File database can be accessed through the campus Web site's link to the library page.
For help, librarians are available through e-mail or the reference desk at 733-2477.
