Ranger honors sources with awards, ice cream

The Ranger shows its appreciation to all the sources who had to deal with first-time journalism students armed with numerous and sometimes repetitive or just plain annoying questions about the same topic throughout the semester.
The Ranger will treat the sources still talking to us to an ice cream social at 2 p.m. Monday on the second floor balcony of Loftin Student Center.
The staff has spent the past couple of weeks ruminating and nominating their most helpful sources.
While the ice cream cools the crowd, The Ranger staff will present awards to the sources who have gone above and beyond to help cub reporters learn the trade.
Awards presented in the past include the Mother Hen, Defender of the Free Press, The Informant, Forgive and Forget, Booster Club, Patience is a Virtue, Big Tipper, The Sure Thing and the Piñata.
Invitations are in the mail - e-mail, that is.
