Science, engineering club takes awards for business proposals
Students learn teamwork, fundraising and marketing at National Leadership Conference.

Judges included faculty advisers and engineers from companies such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard, General Electric, Ford Motor Co., the U.S. Navy and Exxon Mobile.
MAES works with a sister club on this campus, the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science.
Menard is also a faculty adviser for this club.
"I encourage any students who are science and engineering majors to join," Menard said. Members do not have to be Mexican-American or Native American.
Meetings for MAES are at 2:30 p.m. Mondays in Room 144 of Chance Academic Center.
SACNAS meetings are at 2 p.m. every first and third Tuesday.
Students who are interested in joining MAES should call engineering Coordinator Dan Dimitriu at 785-6049 or Menard at 733-2980.
Those who are interested in SACNAS should e-mail astronomy Instructor Alfred Alaniz at aalaniz@accd.edu or call Counselor Rosa Maria Gonzalez at 733-2984.
