The murder trial of Alan Godin, former part-time librarian at Northeast Lakeview College, has been rescheduled for Oct. 4 in the 187th District Court of Judge Raymond Angelini.
Almost two years ago, Godin was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Northeast Lakeview College Librarian Donald "Devin" Zimmerman.
In a phone interview Aug. 5, Godin's attorney John Convery said pretrial motions will be heard Oct. 1.
Godin, handcuffed and wearing an orange jail uniform, was present at a pretrial hearing June 11.
Librarian Robert Vaughn said it was "obviously emotional" to see his former co-worker after a year and a half.
Vaughn sat with Tracy Mendoza, dean of the learning resource center, waiting for any new information.
Convery said, "There were scheduling conflicts with detectives, law enforcement and experts," he said. "It is unfortunate, but it happens sometimes."
The Ranger reported that Godin fired at Zimmerman on Oct. 13, 2008, in the library at the former Albertsons facility on Pat Booker Road where the college was temporarily housed.
Zimmerman died at the scene.
Godin remains in custody in the Bexar County Detention Center in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
