Dance classes to perform in scholarship benefit May 10

Students from this college’s dance program will demonstrate a collection of dances at 7:30 p.m. May 10 in the auditorium of McAllister Fine Arts Center. More than 125 students from nine classes, including modern dance, jazz, ballet, flamenco, tap, dance performance and country, will perform. Full story

WE Conference offers chance of scholarship, career assistance

Registration continues to May 10 and scholarship applications must be submitted by Monday.

The empowerment center will host its 12th annual Women Empowerment Conference to provide information about continuing education and careers to women May 22-23. For the first time, the conference will be expanded to two days. Full story

Fredstock rocks Saturday in honor of professor

The third-annual Fredstock is expected to be even better than past years because it is on Saturday, instead of during the school week. This year, music business program Coordinator Donnie Meals, who directs Fredstock, said the event will spill over from Lot 7 onto Courtland Place, which will be closed between North Main Avenue and Howard Street during the event.
